Ingesting NMN has often been shown to restore age-related NAD+✰ decline and prevent age-related diseases✰ in animal studies. However, in humans, NMN ✰ on ingestion and aging ✰ effects ✰ is not well known✰ is the current situation. Therefore, the research group planned a placebo-controlled, randomized, double-blind, parallel-group study to clarify the safety and efficacy of taking NMNs in older adults.
In this study, 42 males aged 65 years and older ✰ healthy elderly were compared to NMN intake group (250 mg/day) and placebo.
(Note 5) Randomly assigned to the ingestion group, NMN or placebo✰ intake was performed for up to 12 weeks. On the other hand, in order to investigate motor function, walking speed, 30-second chair standing test, grip strength were evaluated, and analyzed using the same statistical method. The results showed significant improvements in walking speed and left handgrip strength test✰ after taking NMN by mixed effects model or MMRM. These ✰ results do not affect skeletal muscle mass if taken orally with continued ✰✰, healthy elderly men ✰ It has been found to improve motor function.
