In rosemary extract, the most important antioxidant components are carnosic acid (CA), carnosol (CN) and rosmarinic acid (RA). Among them, the first two (carnosic acid and Carnosol) are oil soluble, and their total content is often abbreviated as Ca + CN, which is the detection index of rosemary extract oil soluble dosage form. Rosmarinic acid (RA) is water-soluble. For water-soluble rosmarinic extract formulations, rosmarinic acid is usually selected as the detection index of active ingredients.
