Paeonia lactiflora (scientific name: Paeonia lactiflora), also known as white peony, hang white peony, golden peony, is a perennial rooted herb in the Paeoniaceae family. It is a perennial herb, 60-80 centimeters tall, with cylindrical or fusiform tuberous roots underground. The roots of Paeonia lactiflora are used medicinally. After digging up the roots in summer and fall, the rhizome and fibrous roots are removed, washed and peeled to obtain white peony.
